Elmo Birthday Party

We had an early birthday party with the Bartmann's while we were back home.
Torin needed help blowing out the candles the first time.
But once he realized what to do, he asked for more and we lit the candles again so he could blow them out by himself, which he did!
It was time to dig in for cake and ice cream.
Aunt Sarah made the awesome Elmo cake from scratch! Thanks so much, Aunt Sarah!

Great-Grandma Bartmann

We were able to get a great photo op with Great-Grandma Bartmann and all of Pat and Kelly's grandkids while we were home.
The magic number at this point is 8 wonderful grandkids. 6 girls and 2 boys fill the house with LOTS AND LOTS of noise.
Pat and Kelly are going to need a bigger couch soon with these numbers growing the way they are!

Great-Grandma Zimmer

We were back in South Dakota from the 16th to the 27th for my 10 year class reunion and my Grandma Zimmer's auction of her house. We spent lots of time with both sides of our families. It was a wonderful vacation minus the humidity!

Single vs. Double Stroller 7/14/10

The twins are officially too big to fit in a single stroller together. It is a good thing we have two double strollers in the garage!

"Eat, Sleep, Poop"

"Hey, it's a lot of work following these orders and I take this newborn job very seriously. It's not easy trying to get to 11 lbs." -Logan David 7/10/10

7 weeks...7/7/10

The twins turned 7 weeks on the 7th and celebrated by going to a doctor's appt.

Logan - Our Logan has decided to be the big boy of the family and weighs in at a whopping 10 lbs 12.5 oz. Not bad for starting at 5 lb 12 oz just 7 weeks ago! In comparison to his big brother, Torin weighed 10 lbs 6 oz at 6 weeks of age, so I have a feeling Logan is going to be the bigger brother if this keeps up. He is eating between 4 and 5 ounces of formula every three hours like clockwork, even at night yet unfortunately. We try to stretch him out longer, but he SCREAMS and I mean SCREAMS if a bottle isn't in his mouth within 30 seconds of him waking. Other than those times, we don't hear much from him. He is overall a very content baby. He is 'baby talking' now and enjoys playing on his tummy on the floor. He likes to watch himself in the mirror on the play mat. He still has very blue eyes and his hair is coming in blond. He is now in Stage 1 diapers and very close to exiting 0-3 month clothing and jumping into 3-6 month in the next couple of weeks if I had to guess.
Ella - Our Ella Bella is still the petite baby girl of the family weighing in at 8lbs 14 oz, almost two pounds behind her brother now. She eats 2 1/2 - 3 ounces of formula every three hours. We have had to change her formulas twice now as we are dealing with colic and reflux issues with her. She is currently on Enfamil Gentlease and getting BioGaia probiotic drops once a day to help with these issues. We hope this is the right combination to make her tummy feel better and our nights from 8-10P.M. not be complete torture. Ella loves to watch everything going on around her. She LOVES being talked to and will smile now on command. She doesn't 'baby talk' much yet like her brother does, but her smiles make up for it! Opposite of her brother, she hates being on her stomach and enjoys playing on her back and looking at all of the toys above her. She likes listening to music as it calms her down and helps put her to sleep. She is still in newborn diapers and newborn clothes. We are just now able to have her wear a few 0-3 month clothing. Still opposite her brother, her hair is coming in very dark like her Daddy's and her eyes are a very deep, dark blue. Torin's were the same at this age and his switched to dark brown by 4-5 months of age. I expect hers to do the same.
****The moral of the story on clothing...We have been getting the most adorable matching twin outfits. Unfortunately they aren't wearing them at the same times since he is almost two sizes bigger than her now. If anyone is planning on giving matching clothes as gifts, please include a gift receipt so we can exchange them for the correct sizes so they can wear them at the same time. We are bummed that we have all these matching outfits that might never be worn together. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR HELPING US OUT! :)*****

June 28 - July 4 Gpa & Gma Bartmann Visit

Pat and Kelly were able to come and spend a week with us over the 4th. Kelly brought her camera and accessories along, so we had a photo shoot for the twins. Here is a recap of the week...
We all got out for some walks to the park.
We searched for bugs.
We played in the water.
We fell on the driveway leaving a nasty mark on our forehead. We also conquered going down the spiral slide on our own!
We yelled at ducks in the water.
We turned 6 weeks old.
We showed off our baby boy blue eyes for Grandma.
We brothers hung out.
We 'helped' Grandma take photos of Logan and Ella.
We turned 6 weeks old.
We took beautiful poses with Grandma.
We hung out with Papa and Ma so Daddy and Mommy could have a date night.
We are getting so big.
We are beautiful little miracles.
We are still the calm baby boy.
We are still the feisty baby girl.
We posed in a dress that Grandma Herding wore as a baby girl.
We fixed things in the garage.
We had wonderful conversations with Grandpa and Grandma. Thanks for a great week, Grandpa and Grandma! And thanks for the wonderful pictures, Grandma!

Our Doctor

I had my 6 week post-op appointment this week and Dr. Budd wanted to see the twins again. She delivered both babies and made our miracle family happen. We are so grateful that she was the doctor on call the day the twins were born. She saved Ella's life that day and was amazing in the delivery room. We will always appreciate everything she did for us. Thank you, Dr. Budd.

Floor Time

WAY BEHIND...5 weeks

The twins were five weeks old on June 23rd. They still seem to be joined together in many ways. We hear them 'talking' to one another when in their separate beds in the pack-n-play. We get some sympathy cries out of each of them when the other is crying.
Big brother is really adjusting well now. He still has his 'moments' but they are getting much better.
Sometimes sister can punch you in the face when laying too close together.
Or...brother can try to eat your head since he is hungry constantly these days.
