Torin Turns 4! 8/7/12

Our big boy turned 4 while we were on vacation and was able to have not one, but two birthday parties!  He wanted a motorcycle birthday cake this year, and we were able to share it with both the Herding and Bartmann families while we were in South Dakota.

I can't believe we have a 4-year-old!  He has transitioned from a toddler to a little boy in every way these past couple of months.  It has been an amazing experience being able to watch him grow.  Happy birthday, Torin!  We love you!

Tebbe Family Reunion - Yankton, SD 8/5/12 -8/8/12

We headed back to South Dakota for 10 days the beginning of August and our first stop was Yankton, SD, for the Tebbe Family Reunion.  Tebbe is my Grandma's maiden name (on my Mother's side), so we spent a few days with all of Grandma's sisters and brother, along with their children and grandchildren.  In total, over 70 of us made it to Lewis and Clark Resort for the reunion, and it was great seeing everyone again and meeting the newest additions to the family.

The Twins' First Salon Haircuts! 7/16/12

I broke down and finally brought the twins in to get their hair cut by a professional in July.  My hair cutting abilities are not very good and trying to cut not one, but two 2-year-olds' hair was not an easy task.  So Torin and I brought them to a salon where Ella sat beautifully throughout her entire hair cut and was so excited to be pampered.
She still asks when she can go get her hair cut again.  She is a true girly girl. :)
Here she is all smiles with her new haircut!
Logan went next and as you can see, wasn't as cooperative and didn't care for the experience of getting his hair cut at all!
He cried throughout and kept saying, "ALL DONE!"
But the end result was just as cute, and he walked out with his sticker and sucker in hand for completing his first hair cut with only a few tears!

Grandpa and Grandma Bartmann Visit and Work! 7/5/12-7/10/12

Pat and Kelly came out for a visit the beginning of July and we put them right to work as we are currently finishing the family room, a bedroom and bathroom in our basement.  I wish I had 'fun' pictures to share from this time, but here is the proof Pat was here helping out and we greatly appreciated the help!
And of course we had other 'helpers' as well!

Thanks for all the hard work and help, Pat and Kelly!  Hopefully on your next trip out, you'll be utilizing the bedroom and bathroom you helped install!

Children's Museum of Denver 7/2/12

Grandma Theresia and Cousin Skyler flew out on Saturday, July 1st and stayed through the 4th of July for a mini-vacation.
We headed to the Children's Museum of Denver for a day of playing, building and imagination growing.

Everyone worked so hard on their projects and we came home with amazing finished products!

Zippity Zoo 6/29/12

Our next door neighbors put on a weekly kid play-date this summer known as Friday Fun.  We headed up to Zippity Zoo for one of the Friday's at the end of June.
This is a small farm at the base of the mountains outside of Loveland.
They had alpacas, goats, horses, etc. for the kids to pet and feed.
It was a really fun morning and the kids had a blast seeing the animals and playing together.
They even had bouncy castles, play houses, sand boxes, etc. to keep the kids busy after the animal tours.  We hope to visit Zippity Zoo again in the future.
