Daddy and Torin's Trip to South Dakota 6/6/12-6/10/12

Daddy and Torin took a much needed boys trip to South Dakota for a few days the beginning of June.  Torin had a blast getting all of the attention from Grandpa and Grandma Bartmann without having to share them with the twins.  He is so excited to be back in August on the boat again.

How Mom Gets Through the Grocery Store...6/5/12

...why with sprinkle donuts for the kids, of course!

Back Yard Pool Fun 6/3/12

This is how we are staying cool this summer.

Johnstown Days/Parade 6/2/12

Johnstown's yearly celebration is always the first weekend in June.  It starts on Saturday morning about 4:00 A.M. with firetrucks coming down your street blaring their sirens and fire fighters shouting, "Come on down for the pancake breakfast!"  The first year we lived here all of us neighbors were on our front lawns in pajamas wondering what the heck was going on.  Now we know to get up out of bed and head to the firestation at 5:00 A.M. for some good grub.  Paul got up this year and waited in line for the breakfast to bring home to his sleeping wife and children.
Janna, our next door neighbor and fellow mom of a toddler and twins, and I decided to take our 6 children to the parade while Scott and Paul worked.  We were nervous, but the kids did great!  Her baby boy twins didn't like all the sirens at the end, but the older four loved getting candy and watching the entertainment go by.
It was a huge success and each child left with a huge bag of candy.
That night we headed into town for a pig roast and some other games and activitites in the park.  It was another great Johnstown Days weekend!

6 Month Dental Check-up 5/24/12

Torin, Paul and I all had our 6 month dental check-ups at the end of May and Torin again had no cavities and was such a big boy getting his teeth examined and cleaned.  He even told the hygienist he likes to floss...which is actually true!

Family Trip to the Mountains 5/22/12-5/23/12

We decided to take an overnight trip to the mountains during a couple of Paul's days off at the end of May.  We thought we'd take the kids out to eat, go hiking, stay in a hotel and swim in the pool, etc.  Here's what actually happened...
We left on Tuesday at 11:30 so the kids could nap for a portion of the car ride.  Unfortunately naps lasted a VERY short time, so we stopped for pizza in Idaho Springs.
Due to the lack of an extended nap time, I was fortunate enough to take the screaming twins out of the restaurant so Paul and Torin could enjoy their pizza.
We decided to stop in Silverthorne for the evening and rented a hotel room.  Torin had been telling us all afternoon that his tummy hurt and we chalked it up to not eating a good lunch and a little bit of car sickness from being in the mountains.
We hit up this awesome park to play at near our hotel for the afternoon.
We got back to the hotel in enough time for Torin to say, "I'm gonna puke!" as we get into our hotel room.  And after said puking, "Okay, I feel better.  Let's go swimming."  And sure enough, he did feel better and he swam the night away.
Mommy, however, woke up at around 11P.M. and also said, "I'm gonna puke!" to husband who promptly got out of Mommy's way so she could hit up the bathroom.  Unfortunately Mommy didn't feel like swimming after and was stuck in said bathroom for the next 12 hours miserable.  Daddy took the children out for breakfast the next morning so Mommy could die in said hotel room on her own without lots of noise.  And the vacation was quickly brought to a hault and we headed back down the mountain home so Mommy could rest up and get better.  We will try another "quick, fun mini-vacation" in a couple years!

The twins turn 2...5/19/12

It was an awesome day spent with friends and family.
