Our Preschool Graduate

I will post the video later, but Torin passed 3-year-old preschool this past week.
This huge group is actually 3, 4 and 5 year-olds.  He is one of the youngest in his class.
He was one of two kids that refused to wear the green graduation cap.  He's showing off his independence I guess! :)  They sang many songs and then were called one-by-one and received a diploma and trophy for graduation.
After there was a reception outside where the kids could play and eat cake in celebration.
We are all so proud of you, Torin! Congratulations on finishing your first year of school!
He was so proud of himself when he received his diploma and trophy.  He shows it to everyone that comes over and tells them that he gets to move on to 4-year-old preschool next Fall.

New Pool!

Here is the twins' birthday present from Mom, Dad and Torin.  They LOVE it and it is big enough for all of them to swim in.

They didn't even let the water warm up or get their swim suits on first.

Ways to eat birthday cupcakes

We've had so many birthdays this past month that eating birthday cupcakes is a frequent deal in our house.  So the twins have decided to try new creative ways to eat said cupcakes.

Logan is very meticulous, eating the cupcake one finger-lick at a time.

Ella has decided to not use fingers at all because they might get dirty.

When eating slowly one can savor every bite.

Or eating quickly gives one time to stick a tongue out at Daddy.

And also show off a frosting face to Mom.

Yes, there are many, many ways to eat birthday cupcakes. But the consensus is they are oh so good!

Happy Birthday, Skyler! 4/22/12

We were also able to be in South Dakota for cousin Skyler's 7th birthday. (It looks like Ella is sampling the cake early to make sure it is edible!)

Torin was able to help Grandma Theresia make his Angry Birds cakes.

The Farm 4/18/12 - 4/25/12

"Moo Cows!" is what the twins are yelling here through the fence.

All three of our kids are farm kids at heart.

Torin would live in a tractor if we'd let him.

Pat,  Mike, Duane and Vince are so patient with our kids when they are crawling in and out of machinery.  Below Ella and Mike are having a chat.

Yes, even our princess isn't afraid to get dirty.

Torin and Ella were able to feed baby calves for the first time this trip.

Torin was super excited about 'helping' Papa farm.

Ella's turn to feed the calf.

Torin's going to make a really good farmer one day.  He tells us he's going to be a doctor and a farmer.  Sounds like a good plan to us!

"Lucy!"

Lucy is Papa Pat and Grandma Kelly's new puppy.

Ella fell in love with Lucy and they followed each other everywhere around the yard and in the house.

She still talks about Lucy and what a funny puppy she is.
"Funny, Lucy!"

The Drive to South Dakota - 4/17/12

Our trip to South Dakota was eventful.  We swam in our underwear and diapers at the hotel pool in Valentine, NE.

We jumped on beds in the same hotel.

We crawled through tunnels at a park in North Platte, NE.

We asked if it was Papa Pat's bumpy road (aka his driveway) about 1,000 times.

We watched multiple movies along the way and ate many snacks.

We jumped into the hot tub without fear of drowning with our Dora pajamas on.

We sang MANY songs and played 'I Spy' with colors.

We napped.

We went down the slides.
And then we finally saw Papa Pat's bumpy road.
