3 months/13 weeks old

3 months marks big changes for babies in our house. They've moved into their own bedroom now and are sharing a crib for the time being. We will see how this crib divider works and how well we sleep the next few nights.
Ella turned 3 months old yesterday and is getting to be such a big girl already. She is holding her head up great now and really close to rolling over from her tummy to her back. She likes sitting in the bumbo chair and still needs to be swaddled up to sleep for naps and at night. Her colic is so much better with the formula switch and probiotic she is taking. She eats 3 1/2 ounces every three hours and at night sleeps from 9-2, 2:30-5, 5:30-8 roughly. She is still a little peanut wearing size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes. She is wearing a couple of 3-6 month outfits, but 0-3 fit her very comfortably yet. She still isn't a great napper during the day but we are working on that.
Ella smiles and talks to us all the time now. She is definitely a mommy's girl at this point but we will see if that sticks or not as she grows up. She is an active baby always looking around and wanting to know what is going on.
We are blessed to have such a beautiful baby girl!
Logan turned 3 months old yesterday and is our little ham. He has the best personality for a little baby that I've ever seen. He smiles, coos and talks constantly to anyone and anything. He had a great conversation just the other day with the elephant on the bouncy chair. Logan is much less active than Ella. He is very comfortable just sitting around be it in a bouncy chair, the swing, laying on the floor mat, etc. His laid-back, happy personality carries over to his lack of movement. He eats 4 ounces every three hours and is sleeping the same schedule at night as Ella now for the last week. Previous to that we were still getting up every three hours at night because he's a hungry boy. He is wearing size 2 diapers and leaping out of 3-6 month clothing and into 6-9 month this week. He still naps pretty well during the day and we hope the night sleep stretches continue to get longer and longer.
Logan is also a mommy's boy at this point and I think both are partial to me since I'm staying at home now. I can't get enough of his smiles.
We are blessed to have such a beautiful little boy!

Tummy Time vs. Tummy Time

"Hey Logan, Look! I found my paci. It was in front of my face."
"I find if you leave your head down and hold your arm in front of your face like this, you never lose your paci sister."
"But Logan, there are so many things to see and games to play if you hold your head up."
"Look, I can play 'Peek-a-Boo' just like this without moving a single body part. I am talented."
"Oh Logan, you can smile for the camera and everything with your head up. I can almost roll over now, too."
"Speaking of rolls, is it almost time to eat? I'm about to gnaw my hand off."

Sister

She is the 'cutest little sister'. Torin calls her 'pretty', 'sweet pea', and 'Ella Kathryn' these days.
She hates wearing anything on her head unfortunately, including headbands and hats.
She is adorable with them on though.

Play-Doh

It has been really hot out in the afternoons lately so we spend time doing activities in the house until later in the evening when we can get outside again. Torin really likes Play-Doh. He even showed Ella how to make hand prints yesterday. I love that they are smiling at each other in this picture!
My big boy!

County Fair

Torin went to the fair a couple of weeks ago with our babysitter, Jo. She is in 4-H so Torin was able to spend MANY hours looking at all the animals with her. He loved it so much that we decided to take him back again this past week.
He wasn't afraid to stick his hands in the pens, of course. This pig, however, did startle him some when it got up.
"Piggies!"

Birthday Party 8/7/10

On Saturday I turned two and had a pool party with family and friends.
I went swimming in the 'boy' pool with Noah and Ethan where we could tackle and go under water and not hurt the little girls with our roughness.
We had lots of adults there too so they could help hold the babies while Mommy and Daddy prepared food and kept the party going.
My Godfather, Sean, is above holding Logan and my neighbor, Janna, is below holding Ella.
The girls spent most of the pool time playing in this one so us boys wouldn't splash them.
I could swim every single day I love it so much.

Here is everyone that made it to my party. I had so much fun that day.
Here is Hope by the sprinkler that all of us ran through.
We then went in and ate burgers, hot dogs, and of course, cake and ice cream. I asked Mommy to get me an orange cake since I already had an Elmo cake back in South Dakota. Orange is my favorite color.
Everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' to me.
I blew out my candles.
And finally dug into the good stuff. YUM!

We ended the evening opening presents where I got lots of new toys, clothes and books.

Thanks to everyone who came to my 2nd birthday party. It was an awesome day!

Brothers

I hope these two become the best of friends. I'm sure the big brother will teach the little brother everything he knows, including how to turn on the video camera.
Whoops, big brother moved so little brother lost his balance.
Awww, Mommy loves it when big brother kisses little brother.
"Big brother, put your head next to little brother's. GENTLY, big brother!" Mommy says.
Silly little brother already hamming it up for the camera.

Changes...

There are lots of changes that take place when you turn two. You get your very own big boy bed.
Your room gets rearranged without the crib in it.
Daddy gives you your very first 'buzz cut'.
Mommy gives M&M's as treats for doing such a good job sitting for Daddy.
I even took my very first shower this morning and loved it. Yep, I think I'm ready to turn two tomorrow.

2 Month Well-Check...10 1/2 weeks

These two night owls had their 2 month well-check yesterday with Dr. Mark even though they are 10 1/2 weeks old already. It was great because Torin was also 10 1/2 weeks when we had his two month well-check so I was able to compare the boys' measurements accurately. Here are the stats:

Miss Ella - Height - 22 1/4 inches - 50th percentile
Weight - 10 lbs 5.5 oz - 50th percentile
Head Circ. - 15 inches - 50th percentile

Since her two week appt. she has grown from the 3rd percentile to the 50th. She is growing beautifully and her colic is SOOOO much better with the BioGaia probiotic she is on.

Mr. Logan - Height - 23 1/2 inches - 75th - 90th percentile
Weight - 13 lbs 4.5 oz - 90th percentile
Head Circ. - 15 3/4 inches - 50th percentile

Since his two week appt. he has grown from the 10th percentile to the 90th. Needless to say, he is a chunk and enjoys his dinners. We couldn't be happier with how well both Logan and Ella have went from being premature babies to right on track with every other baby their age in just two months time. We are so blessed.

In comparison, here are Torin's stats from 10 1/2 weeks old.
- Height - 23 inches - 1/2 inch less than Logan
- Weight - 13 lbs 5 oz - same as Logan
- Head Circ. - 16 1/2 inches - HUGE

Just the right shot...8/1/10

With three kids finding the 'perfect shot' I've realized may never happen.
Someone will be crying and putting a hand up in protest.
Someone will have a great smile, but their eyes will be shut.
Someone will turn their head away from the camera at the exact moment the flash goes off.
The camera operator will have her foot in the photo. Yes, the perfect photo may never happen. But, we do have three great looking kids!

"Papa!"

There's nothing like a Papa in Torin's world. He can get his Papa's to do almost anything for him. They'll play in the sandbox.
They'll give countless 4-Wheeler rides.
They'll also give many lawn mower rides.
And they'll absolutely have to help you play with the dogs, Jax and Hunter.

Yep, there's nothing like a Papa.
