Some Nice Weather

We finally made it back into the 50's over the weekend, so T and I played outside in the afternoons. We shoveled snow into our bucket.
We ran up and down the driveway.
We played some basketball.

He wore his sunglasses for a while.
It was so much fun to be outside again!

Zoo Lights

We went to the Denver Zoo Lights with the Athertons on Friday night and the boys loved it. We put Ethan and Torin in the wagon for a while covered in blankets and Noah walked with us.
Torin enjoyed the wagon as long as it was moving!

Beautiful lights...

Daddy and T
Torin loved the elephants and giraffes the most.
Where are we going next, Daddy? Torin is getting really good at holding our hand now when he's walking.

Noah, Torin and Ethan checking out the giraffes.
Thanks Athertons for an awesome time at the zoo!

"I said..."

"...I want a stinkin' snack."

Present Opening...Practice Run

We thought we'd give opening presents a practice run for when we are in South Dakota over Christmas.
As you can see, he has no problem opening presents.
Actually, Torin has decided that climbing out of his high chair is a good idea, so Paul and I decided it was time for a big boy booster chair.
He's a big boy alright. He's getting too big too fast for Mommy.
Goodbye high chair...we'll see you in 10 months give or take.

New Wagon!!

T was lucky enough to get an early Christmas gift in the mail from G-ma and G-pa Herding. Before opening it, Carrie and I decided to parley this one gift into two, and let him play with the box for a few days first. If it isn't obvious by the following pictures, T has decided he needs to climb on everything possible.

After a few days of climbing, I opened the box up and started the grand Christmas tradition of toy assembly. Everything went smooth, thanks in no small part to my little "helper".
Now that the wagon is operational, T spends a good part of his day having me pull him from room to room, trying to pull the wagon around the house himself, and climbing in and out (and in and out and in and out). After a few good hours of playing this morning, he decided to just chill in the wagon while I did a few chores around the house. (No, Kurt and Sean, Carrie did not leave me a list. I'm just that conciderate.) Whenever I walked by him, he would just laugh and "da da" at me.
After about 10 mins of this there was complete silence. With a 16 mon old, nothing is more potentially mischievous than complete silence. Luckily he wasn't getting into trouble, he was just tuckered out and decided a nap in the wagon was the perfect cure!

Back to Posting...

Carrie and I have had a bit of a hiatus from the blog lately. The main reason behind the break was the anticipation of our new camera. We (Carrie) decided a new camera would be a great Christmas gift to each other. After much contemplation we (Paul) decided on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1. I was tired of all the cameras that only have 3x zoom, but didn't want to carry around something that wont comfortably fit in a pocket. This one has a 8x zoom, and is the size of a deck of cards. Much smaller, better zoom, and MUCH better picture quality than our old camera. So far, so good!!

15 Month Well Check

Torin is still growing right on track for his age. His stats at his appointment on Monday were: Height - 30.5 inches - 45%ile
Weight - 25lbs 2 oz - 75%ile
Head Circumference - 19 1/2 inches - 95%ile

His newest things are signing 'please' whenever he wants anything, blowing kisses to everyone, and saying 'ha' for hot and blowing on all of his food before he eats it. He's also busy climbing on everything, tossing things in the toilet and flushing it, and hiding the tv remotes in random places. He's a busy boy all right!

Torin Announces...

That he is going to be the big brother to TWINS! Below are the babies together in the picture.

I apologize for how small the pictures are. I couldn't get them scanned in any better. Top photo below is Baby A and bottom photo below is Baby B.

Both babies look great and have heartbeats in the 160's. They are measuring right on track at this point. I am 8 weeks 4 days along today and feeling absolutely terrible unfortunately. I have nausea ALL DAY LONG, but thankfully the doctor has prescribed some meds to help with that. I'm hoping I start to feel better as this first trimester winds down. We have another ultrasound and appointment at 12 weeks.

Meeting Up With Blog Friends

As many already know, I joined a fertility blog a few years back when we were trying to conceive Torin. This past weekend we were able to meet up in Elkhart, IN. for Maria's baby shower. She is having twins this coming winter.
From Left to Right: Me (from Denver), Kim (from Albuquerque), Maria (guest of honor, Elkhart), Cindy (Chicago), and Wendy (Baltimore). There are many more of us, but some couldn't make the trip. It was wonderful to finally meet up and have our little ones play together.
Torin and Anna (Wendy's daughter, 18 months old)
Kaitlyn (Cindy's daughter, 18 months) and Torin playing with Bella the dog. Torin tormented Bella just as he does Cooper. Thankfully Bella is just as tame as Cooper is.

The Park...After the Snow Storm

The week after our big snow storm we were back to gorgeous Colorado weather. We hit the park for some fun.
Brrrooom, Brooommmm.
The swings are still a favorite for T.

Gene Pool

Where does that curly hair come from? How about those pinch-able cheeks? Here is a picture of Torin at 14 months (top pic) and his Grandpa Bartmann (bottom pic)at 18 months. Do you see the resemblance?
Besides Torin having the dark brown eye color like his Daddy does (which comes from the Knox side), we think he is definitely looking like a Bartmann.

Trick-or-Treat

We had a great time last night going out and about for Halloween. We also had multiple trick-or-treaters stop by our house for candy.
This little puppy is the most adorable thing I've ever seen.
Tracey took a family picture for us.
Torin and his Daddy.
He even got on all fours to show how a doggy walks :)
Where are we going now, Mom?
Well, Chipotle was having their annual wrap yourself in tin foil like a burrito and get a free burrito night, so Sean, Tracey, Paul, Torin and I all decided to check it out. Yes, everyone wrapped up in tin foil.
And, yes, we all got free burritos. 9 of them in fact! Halloween 2009 was awesome! We can't wait until next year when Torin fully understands what it means.
